Grief to Peace

Your Grief Journey Companion for Hope and Healing

Guest Speaker 1/17, Dottie Bonds

Dottie has organized and leads the Courageous Journey Through Grief program at St. Thomas More Catholic Church as part of her grief ministry.  After watching her daughter die from an auto accident Dottie became acutely aware of the lack of programs and awareness to help those who are suffering the loss of a loved one. She has structured an eight-week bereavement process program that draws on the richness of prayer, imagery, individual reflection and healing for people who have experienced the loss of a mother, father, spouse, child or other loved one.

Dottie has facilitated a number of grief groups since the lost of her daughter, leading groups for Hospice, and several Catholic Churches.

Finding that Compassionate Friends had established a Worldwide Candle Lighting service to remember and honor children who have died, Dottie has worked with Compassionate Friends to enlarge the service to include grieving parents from the parishes with which she has worked.

In order to better serve those that have experienced grief, Dottie has advanced training with the Archdiocese of Los Angles, Hospice and several other  religious and ecumenical entities.

Her next grief session will be a eight-week bereavement process class starting January 30 running for 8 weeks on Monday nights at  St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
