We would never think twice about being kind to someone who is in pain, grief or suffering of any kind. Yet sometimes when we find ourselves in those places we forget to be kind to ourselves and we even have expectations that we should do more or be better or stronger for others we are supporting. Yet, when we are in grief that is the very time that we are called to be gracious with ourselves and to let go of trying to be “tough” and truly become like children again. Children are open to letting others assist them never questioning that it lessens them or makes them weak. We too gain strength and healing when we let go of resistance.
